CVE Points

All practising veterinarians are required to undertake CPD. CPD is divided into 3 categories, Continuing Veterinary Education (CVE), Collegial Learning Activities (CLA) and Self-Directed Learning (SDL).

CPD Points: What They Are and How They Vary Across States

CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points are a measure of the ongoing learning and development activities professionals engage in to maintain their skills, knowledge, and competency. These points are often required to maintain professional registration, meet industry standards, and demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning. CPD activities can include attending workshops, seminars, completing courses, or engaging in other relevant educational experiences.

When you complete courses and training through SVT, you will be granted CPD points as part of your professional development. This allows you to meet industry and registration requirements while enhancing your expertise.

The number of CPD points required and the types of activities that qualify can vary from state to state, depending on the specific professional regulations of each region or industry. Some states may require more CPD points or specific types of activities based on local standards. It's important for professionals to stay informed about the requirements in their state to ensure they remain compliant with regulations and continue advancing in their careers.
